The Mission My MissionHeart disease and stroke top the leading causes of fatal illness in America. There is high probability you may have already been touched. Maybe a relative or friend or neighbor has suffered? These diseases also debilitate and rob victims of their quality of life. Men. Women. Dads. Moms. Brothers. Sisters. There’s no discrimination. But there is hope Studies have proven that healthy, nutritional and active lifestyles can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. It’s my hope that by raising critical research funds and awareness about prevention, I can help make a positive difference. So, starting in Buenos Aires on January 1st, I’ll cycle 900 miles to Mt. Aconcagua, where I will embark on a 3 week attempt to solo the Polish Glacier to the 22,841 foot summit. When I return, I will get back on the bike and ride for 2400 miles, making my way back to Buenos Aires with stops all over northern Argentina. In addition, I’m partnering with The Rotary Club of Ventura, to help them with their efforts in eradicating Polio; a crippling and fatal, yet preventable disease that still effects children worldwide. By raising awareness and funding for the Polio Plus Program which is aiming to match a $100 million challenge grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, we can wipe out this tenacious disease. Sponsorships and gifts received help cover costs and will be directed to the American Heart Association and Polio Plus Program. Already in my young life, I’ve accomplished many things and it has only made me reach higher. I’ve long loved nature, travel and new challenges - whether rock or ice climbing, running or cycling. Some recent experiences range from riding elephants in Thailand to hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu to climbing the Chanchani Volcano in southern Peru at 6075m/19931 ft. And more- When asked why I am doing this cross-country bike trek, I say it is because I want to engage people - and especially kids, our leaders of tomorrow - to know that they can make a difference too - starting with themselves and healthy habits. Every day. My philosophy is simple: "I want to make the most of everyday and follow my dreams." With your support, we can help make a positive difference. "Thank you for any financial or in-kind support you can provide in helping dreams come true."
